Overview

Nello ("Nello," "the App") is developed by Adelyons Software LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). Nello is a calm, strengths-based, local-first companion for parents of autistic children — and for autistic people tracking themselves. It lets you log behaviors, meltdowns (as Antecedent → Behavior → Consequence, or "ABC"), sensory moments, and wins; build a calm kit and visual schedules; surface patterns; and create reports you choose to share. This policy explains how the App handles your information.

Information Stored On Your Device

The following is created and stored locally on your device only, in a private database (SQLite) within the App. It is not transmitted to us or to any server unless you turn on Share with family:

• Child & person profiles: Names or nicknames, ages, sensory profiles (seekers/avoiders), and any details you add — including profiles you create for self-tracking.
• Daily logs: Meltdowns/shutdowns, sensory moments, sleep, food/appetite, toileting, mood check-ins, and wins ("glimmers").
• Meltdown decoder (ABC): The antecedents, behaviors, and consequences you record for each meltdown, plus any triggers and notes.
• Calm kit, schedules & notes: Your child's personalized calm-kit items, visual schedules, first-then boards, transition timers, and free-text notes.
• Patterns & insights: Trigger charts, pattern summaries, and (for Nello+) the weekly digest — all computed locally from the data above by fixed rules, not AI.
• Reports: Advocate/IEP and care-circle PDFs or snapshots, which are generated on your device.
• App settings & preferences: Your accessibility choices (dark mode, large text, reduced motion, low-stim mode) and other in-app preferences.

Because this data lives only on your device, it is removed when you delete an entry in the App, clear the App's data, or uninstall the App.

No Account

• Nello does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide an email address, name, or any other identifier.
• Unless you turn on Share with family, we do not receive, store, or back up your data.
• Your data is synced between devices only through Share with family. If your device's operating system backs up app data (for example through iCloud or Android backup that you have enabled), that backup is controlled by you and your platform provider under their policies — not by us.
• You can create your own backup using the App's local export/restore (CSV/PDF), which you save and share yourself.

Optional Purchases (Nello+)

Nello's core tracking, calm kit, and full accessibility are free forever, with an optional Nello+ upgrade. Purchases are the only feature that involves any data leaving your device, and they are handled by trusted providers:

• Apple App Store / Google Play: When you subscribe or make the lifetime purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We never receive or store your payment-card details.
• RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to validate and restore your Nello+ entitlement. RevenueCat receives a purchase token, an anonymous app-generated user identifier, and basic device and purchase metadata needed to deliver and restore your purchase. It does not receive any of your child's or health data — no logs, meltdowns, sensory notes, profiles, calm kit, or reports. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

If you never make a purchase, no purchase-related data is sent. Subscription terms (including auto-renewal) are described in our Terms of Service, and are also governed by Apple's Media Services Terms and Google Play's Terms of Service.

Share with Family (Optional)

If you choose Export & reports → Share with family, you can link your phone with the phones of other people who support the same child (or the same person), by showing a one-time code (or QR code) on one phone and entering or scanning it on the other. While phones are linked:

• What is sent: the profiles, meltdown (ABC) records, sensory notes, sleep, food, toileting and note entries, how each day felt, wins and calm-kit items you keep in the App, and later changes to them. Photos are not sent.
• Where it goes: our sync service, hosted by Supabase, over an encrypted (TLS) connection. It is stored there as a change log so that each linked phone can fetch what it is missing. Linked phones are identified by a random device token; no name, email address, or account is involved. We do not read, analyze, sell, or share this data, and it is not used for advertising.
• Who can see it: only the phones you have linked with a code. A browser connected by a school-day log link can add entries but cannot see any (see below).
• Stopping and deleting: any phone can stop sharing at any time and keeps what it already has. The phone that started sharing can delete the shared copy from our server in the App (Delete the shared copy). A shared copy that no phone has used for 180 days is deleted automatically. You can also email us to have it deleted.

School-day log link (Optional)

From Export & reports → School-day log link you can make a link for a teacher or aide. Making one starts a shared copy on our sync service if you are not sharing yet, and puts the selected person's profile (name, profile notes and the self-tracking setting) on it so that school entries attach to the right person; anything else already in the App is shared as described above. The link contains a one-time code, the person's random record identifier and their first name only, all after the # in the address, which browsers do not send to any server. It works once, within seven days.

• What the teacher's browser sends: the one-time code, a random browser identifier and the label "School log (web)" to connect; then each entry the teacher submits (date and time, setting, what happened before, what they saw, what happened after, intensity, optional duration, or the text of a win) with the person's record identifier. No teacher name, email address or account is involved.
• What it can see: nothing from the record. The sync service gives that browser an add-only token: it can add new entries and is refused every read, change and deletion. The page shows the first name from the link and the form.
• Stopping: in Share with family, Linked phones and browsers lists the teacher's browser; Remove (on the phone that started sharing) disconnects it at once. The teacher can also disconnect it from the page. Entries already sent stay in the family's record.
• The page loads our privacy-friendly page counter (analytics.adelyons.com), which records the page address without the part after the #; it has no Google Analytics.

Invite a Friend (Optional)

Nello includes an optional invite feature: if a friend enters your invite code, you both receive 30 days of Nello+ at no charge. It is entirely optional, and the rest of the App never needs a connection.

When — and only when — you open the invite screen or enter a code, the App sends the following to our invite service (hosted on Supabase) so the free month can be granted through RevenueCat:

• A random installation identifier generated on your device the first time the invite screen is used. It is a random value, not a device or advertising ID, and it is not derived from your device or from you.
• Your RevenueCat anonymous customer identifier, so the free month is applied to the right installation.
• The six-character invite code being created or redeemed.

That is the entire payload. It does not include your logs, notes, children, or history — none of your log data is involved in the invite feature in any way. We do not learn your name, email address, contacts, or location, and there is still no account and no login. Records of invite codes and redemptions are kept only to grant the reward, to prevent abuse, and as an audit trail; email us and we will delete yours.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect, upload, or store your or your child's data on any server, except the shared copy you create with Share with family.
• We do not require an account, email address, name, or login.
• We do not collect location data.
• We do not use advertising identifiers or any cross-app tracking, and we do not show ads.
• We do not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the App that send your usage or personal data to us.
• We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We never sell or share your data.

Data Retention & Deletion

Because your profiles, logs, ABC records, sensory notes, wins, calm kit, schedules, notes, and reports are stored only on your device, you control them directly and they are kept for as long as you keep them:

• Delete in-app: Remove individual entries at any time, or clear the App's data from within the App or your device settings.
• Uninstall: Deleting the App from your device permanently removes all of its locally stored data.
• Purchase records: Subscription and purchase records held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat are retained under their respective policies. You can manage or cancel a subscription from your device's store settings.

Security

Your data stays within the App's private storage on your device, protected by your device's operating system. Communication with the App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat for purchase handling — and Share with family, if you turn it on — uses encrypted (TLS) connections. No system can guarantee absolute security, but keeping your data on-device means that, unless you share with family, there is no central copy of your family's information to breach. A shared copy can be read only by the phones holding a device token issued when you linked them.

Children's Privacy

Nello is designed to be used by parents and caregivers (and by autistic teens and adults tracking themselves). When a parent records information about their child, that information is entered by the adult and stays on the adult's device, unless the adult chooses to share it with the family phones they link (see Share with family). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable) as independent users, and it does not request that children provide information to us. A parent remains in full control of their child's data and can delete it at any time using the options above, including the shared copy. If you believe a child has provided information that reached us, contact us using the details below and we will help.

Your Rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) give you rights to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data, and to opt out of its sale. Unless you use Share with family, Nello does not store your personal data on our servers; if you do, the shared copy can be deleted from the App, or by emailing us. You can exercise full control over your in-app data using the deletion and export options above. For any purchase data held by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat, contact those providers or reach us using the details below and we will help.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
