1. Introduction

Adelyons Software LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the VolleyVelocity mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we share it when you use VolleyVelocity. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Our commitment: VolleyVelocity is built to measure your spike velocity, power, contact height, and spin honestly — and to let you compete with friends and teammates. We collect only what is needed to do that well, and we don't sell your data.

2. Information We Collect

VolleyVelocity collects only the data needed to run the app well. Here is a complete breakdown:

Account Information

• Email & Password: When you register with email, we collect your email address and the password you create. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
• Sign in with Apple / Google: If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and (optionally) the email address the provider returns.

Profile Information

• Display Name: The name shown on your leaderboard entries and shared hits.
• Profile Photo: Optional — only collected if you choose to upload one.
• Position & Player Profile: Optional onboarding details (position, dominant hand, height range, date of birth) used to contextualize your hit results and group leaderboards by age.
• Approximate Location: Optional. If you tap "Use my location," your device's position is converted to a city, region, and country on your device, and we store only those text labels so you can appear on local leaderboards. We never collect or store your exact GPS coordinates.

Hit & Analysis Data

• Hit Measurements: Computed values for each analyzed hit — velocity, power, contact height, spin, and the timestamp/conditions you supplied.
• Analysis Clip: The clip you choose to analyze (up to ~30 seconds, trimmed and compressed on your device) is uploaded to our secure storage and sent to Google's Gemini AI service to compute your hit measurements. Before any clip is sent, the app shows an in-app notice describing exactly what is shared and with whom, and asks for your permission. Along with the clip we send the contact-frame and trim markers you set and, if you provided it, your playing position. The clip is deleted from the AI service immediately after processing and is retained in your account's storage until you delete your account.
• Hit History: The list of your past hits, personal records, and trends over time.

Social & Competitive Data

• Friends: The user IDs of friends you add or who add you via share link.
• Teams: Team name, team code, and the user IDs of team members for teams you create or join.
• Leaderboard Entries: Your top hit, display name, profile photo, playing position, and — if you set them — your age group and city/region are shown to other users on friend, team, and global leaderboards.

Device & Usage Data

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers used for app functionality and crash diagnostics.
• Usage Data: Aggregate information about how you interact with the App, used to improve the product.

Camera & Photo Library

• On Request Only: Accessed only when you record or import a clip, or upload a profile photo. We do not access your camera or photo library in the background.

Purchase Information

• Subscription Status: If you subscribe to VolleyVelocity Pro, purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We receive confirmation of your subscription status via RevenueCat but do not receive or store your full payment details.

What We Do NOT Collect

• Precise or continuous location data.
• Contacts, call logs, or text messages.
• Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking identifiers.
• Behavioral data for ad targeting.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To Provide the App: Create and manage your account, analyze the clips you submit, and display your measured hits, trends, and leaderboard standings.
• To Personalize Your Experience: Tailor leaderboards and personal records based on your friends, team, and player profile.
• To Manage Subscriptions: Process and validate in-app purchases and manage your VolleyVelocity Pro entitlement via RevenueCat.
• To Communicate With You: Send updates about features, leaderboard rankings, or friend invites — only if you have granted notification permission.
• To Improve the App: Use aggregated, anonymized usage data to improve measurement accuracy and overall experience.
• To Provide Support: Respond to your support requests and troubleshoot issues.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with the following service providers, only to operate the App:

• Supabase (supabase.com): Our backend database and authentication provider, which securely stores your account, profile, hit, friends, and team data.
• Google Gemini (Google): Your analysis clip is sent through our Edge Function to Google's Gemini API to compute your hit measurements, then deleted from Gemini immediately after processing. Governed by Google's privacy policy.
• RevenueCat (revenuecat.com): Our subscription management provider, which receives a user identifier and subscription status to manage your VolleyVelocity Pro entitlement.
• Apple & Google: In-app purchase transactions are processed directly by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) under their respective privacy policies.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• Active Accounts: We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.
• Account Deletion: You can request deletion of your VolleyVelocity data at any time. We process deletion requests within 30 days. Deletion removes only your VolleyVelocity records — if you also use other Adelyons apps with the same account, those records remain intact.
• Backups: Supabase maintains automated backups for disaster recovery; these are deleted per their retention policies.

6. Security

• Encryption in Transit: All data transmission uses TLS.
• Encryption at Rest: Supabase-managed encryption for stored data.
• Passwords: Your password is never stored in plain text.
• Access Controls: Internal access to user data is limited and role-based.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information.

7. Children's Privacy

VolleyVelocity requires users to be at least 13 years old; the app enforces a minimum date of birth of 13 at sign-up and on the profile screen. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it. For users aged 13–17, the data practices described in this policy apply, and we encourage parents and guardians to be aware of the profile, approximate-location, and leaderboard features before their child uses them.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Port your data in a machine-readable format.

California (CCPA/CPRA)

• You have the right to know, delete, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

EU/EEA (GDPR)

• Legal Basis: We process personal data based on consent (profile data), contract performance (account, hit analysis, subscription), and legitimate interest (product improvement).
• Data Transfers: Data may be stored and processed in the United States. By using VolleyVelocity, you consent to such transfer.

9. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Your continued use of VolleyVelocity after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
